At a press conference in Filmhuset in Stockholm today, the nominations for the Guldbagge Awards for the film year 2022 were presented. Triangle of Sadness was presented with nine nominations, followed by Boy from Heaven with seven nominations. Burn All My LettersComedy Queen and I Am Zlatan received six nominations each.

The Guldbagge Awards Gala is arranged by the Swedish Film Institute in collaboration with SVT and takes place at Cirkus in Stockholm on January 23, 2023.

A jury of 33 members in four groups came to the following result for the nominations for the 2023 Guldbagge Awards, Sweden’s national film awards. Special committees agreed on the nominations for the categories for Best Short Film and Best Documentary Film.

Other awards at the ceremony

The Award of Honour (Hedersguldbagge) will be presented, as well as the Gullspira (for extraordinary contributions in films for children) and the The Guldbagge Audience Award.

Awarded annually since 1964, the Guldbagge (“Golden Beetle”) is the name of the Swedish Film Institute’s award for achievements in film during the previous year. The award itself, in the form of a fantastical beetle, was designed by the artist Karl Axel Pehrson.
